Apparently, the Associated Press has already written Britney Spears’s obituary. While it’s common for news organizations to write obituaries for famous people while they’re still alive, rarely is it ever done for someone under the age of 30. You may be shocked by this, but I actually feel sorry for Britney Spears. I think the odds are pretty good that she will kill herself at some point. Glad the AP is prepared.
In other celebrity news, Heath Ledger RIP.

January 23rd, 2008 at 10:42 ami often think that the split-up from justin timberlake has triggered all this. some people never recover from certain heartbreaks, and i remember seeing her crying on tv over this, saying that she still couldn’t believe it. some people are too
frail. you know. i often wonder if the whole media scrutinizing has kept her going [because at last she has managed to draw attention to herself] or if it is the fatal trigger for what it might come. i think that this girl’s mental health is such a
deep issue, and the media and people seem to have lots of fun with it. same applies to amy winehouse. to lindsay lohan. i could go all paranoid and say this is all about preying on these young women’s mental health imbalances, that deeply
self satisfying thing that some males have about stating that women are “crazy” whenever they fall from grace, even if only slightly. men do the same, they are rebellious; women are crazy, full stop. but then I think of pete doherty. and they
want the grand finale, don’t they. hope it doesn’t come. -

January 23rd, 2008 at 8:03 pmI know this is going to be a funny thing to ask, but were you at Tesco near Brunswick this morning around 10ish? I saw someone in line that I thought was you, and glanced a few times. I’ve never met you or seen your entire face though, so I really have no clue if it was you or not. Just wondered!
And Heath surprised me a lot. I wasn’t much of a fan, but it felt like it was out of left field.

Daniela: You are so right about women in this situation being labeled crazy, whereas most men are just rebellious. As for Doherty, I don’t think he’s portrayed as crazy, but more as edgy and cool. It’s true that with Spears, they see she’s on a certain trajectory and they will be very disappointed if this whole saga doesn’t end in her death, which seems like the logical ending if you look at this as a story, rather than as someone’s life. It’s really quite sick.
Rebecca: No, that wasn’t me! I never go in that Tesco. I hate it! In fact, a couple years ago I wrote a whole blog post about how much I hate that Tesco.

January 25th, 2008 at 3:19 pmHaha! I don’t blame you a bit! It’s quite horrible and I only go in if I am nearby and absolutely need something. I thought it was a one in a million chance it was even you, but something made me wonder

January 27th, 2008 at 9:08 amIt is a downer trying to sort yourself out when people are well, waiting for it to get worse.
I hate the media, Brit tabloids in particular, I’m developing a positive loathing for the Times of London.
On the other hand, I like Tesco’s, I do very much find a Tesco delivery, a bit mood elevating.
