Don’t you just love this photo of Hillary Clinton currently displayed very prominently on the homepage of the Times:

I can just imagine them publishing such a photo of Obama or McCain. When Hell freezes over. This may seem like something silly, but it’s not. As someone who has worked as a photo editor and seen her fair share of contact sheets, I know for certain that a rather large percentage of photos from any shoot or spontaneous news event will look unflattering or weird like the one above. Such photos are usually always deleted, not placed on the homepage of a “reputable” newspaper like the Times. But then, Hillary Clinton is not always afforded the same respect that her male colleagues receive. For shame.
Good luck tomorrow, Hill!

How funny…I just got through posting my own rant about the misogyny and discrimination that is still rampant in the Western political system and society. I am so fed up with folks going on and on and on about how dishonest and corrupt Hillary Clinton is; and yet, this is nothing new in politicians, and you don’t hear people griping about this in male politicians. It is because she is a powerful woman…
…WHO JUST WON THE PENNSYLVANIA PRIMARY!!! YAY CLINTON!!Er, ahem. It’s just nice to hear another person out there who knows exactly what is going on with the anti-Clinton smear campaign. Hi!

April 23rd, 2008 at 10:11 amI don’t get what’s wrong with this pic. HRC (for once) looks like a real, believable person, rather than a Terminator-style politico. She could do with more of this, not less, in my opinion.

jp - I voted for Hillary Clinton and I think this picture makes her look deranged. It’s ridiculous.

April 24th, 2008 at 4:44 amWe need to look at the policy differences and try to get away from the vampirical imagery. Besides, I phoned up The Times, and they said that one was the most flattering they had.
I think the photo of a thoughtful & serene Obama on a plane, quite nicely offsets the vibrant nature of Senator Clinton’s sinister haemoglobin sucking impulses.

April 26th, 2008 at 9:56 pmDid you see the photo of Eliot Spitzer on the front page of the Times the day he announced his trouble? Now THAT was unbelievable.
